Solution
InterTech performed an analysis of the client’s existing systems and infrastructure. The solution included a return on investment study for replacing the client’s existing Frame Relay Wide Area Network (WAN) with a VPN solution. The study showed a reduction of $2200 in monthly re-occurring telecommunications cost. The solution included the use of the following products:
- Symantec VelociRaptor Firewall Model 1200 (Part No. 16-00-00198-US)
- Symantec Full VPN for VelociRaptor (Part No. 16-94-07372)
- Symantec Firewall/VPN Appliance Model 200 (Part No. 16-00-00079)
- Citrix MetaFrame XP
Results
InterTech implemented a firewall (Symantec VelociRaptor) at the corporate headquarters and enabled VPN tunnels for the remote offices and remote users. The solution included the installation of firewalls (Symantec Firewall/VPN Appliance Model 200) and the creation of VPN tunnels between the remote office and the corporate headquarters. InterTech also configured the all mobile user for access the to corporate office using the Symantec VPN client. To increase the performance of the corporate applications Citrix MetaFrame XP was implemented at the corporate headquarters.
