Business Requirement
Need to connect LANs located the two buildings
Solution
InterTech conducted site survey at both building to determine placement of bridges and antennas. The solution included the use of the following products:
- Cisco 350 Series 11Mbps Bridge (Part No. AIR-BR350-x-KP)
- Cisco Antenna, Yagi (Part No. AIR-ANT1949)
- Low Loss Antenna Cable
- Non-penetrating Roof Mounts
The Cisco bridges were installed in wiring closets in each of the buildings. The antennas were installed on non-penetrating roof mounts placed on the roofs of each building. Low loss cable was run from the antennas to the bridges in the wiring closest. The antennas were then positioned for maximum signal strength.
Results
The resulting solution was a reliable, high bandwidth (11Mbps) connection between the two buildings with no re-occurring cost.
